Moss: A Biophilic Design element with benefits
Moss walls have been used for centuries in Europe. Moss is now used as a biophilic design element.
Real, preserved moss is an environmentally friendly way to improve air quality, reduce energy costs and bring nature back into the human landscape. The Fat Plant Society created the moss wall for Hogshead KC, a Kansas City restaurant and we shot some footage of the project with and Bradán, LLC to show the process and finished product. Visit The Fat Plant Society blog page for more information on the benefits of moss as a biophilic design product.
We build each moss wall and frame to spec and work directly with our clients to provide the design style and color that best suits their space. Since our moss is preserved (we like to say it's dormant, neither living nor dead), the moss does not require heavy dirt, does not require water, does not produce pollen or spores, is lightweight to hang and install, and will retain its color for at least ten years.
We do offer standard size moss frames starting at 1 ft by 1 ft and you may order them through our products page.
